Polyester/Acrylic
This fabric is a combination of Polyester and Acrylic - a polyester weave coated with acrylic for UV resistance. It is a superb fabric that outperforms Sunbrella (acrylic) in strength, UV and water resistance and many other aspects. We highly recommend this for all covers that will be stored outdoors or otherwise see heavy use. The color choices are limited, however, so please contact us for the colors available.
Sunbrella® (Acrylic)
Sunbrella® is a popular brand of acrylic outdoor-use fabric offering very good UV resistance. Like the generic polyester, it is a heavier, stiffer fabric than nylon and is guaranteed against fading for 5 years. However, Sunbrella does not hold up well against abrasion or repeated rubbing, having lower abrasive resistance qualities than nylon or polyester. Because of this, Sunbrella covers should only be ordered with the padded lining.
Polyester
Polyester is a heavier, thicker fabric which provides superior durability. It has excellent abrasive resistance properties, and is a good choice for covers that will see prolonged outdoor exposure. We recommend polyester for all covers that will be used for frequent transportation or periodic outdoor storage.
Nylon
Nylon covers are soft, flexible and easy to handle. Nylon is appropriate for covers that are used exclusively for transportation and indoor storage. Nylon is not suitable for exposure to extreme weather conditions or rough handling. Nylon is the most economical choice, but colors will fade once exposed to the elements for an extended period of time.
